MY HUNTING/HABITAT JOURNEY

My hunting has been primarily based in the highly pressured deer country of central Michigan.  Also spent plenty of time hunting in northern Michigan as well as couple trips each year to the vast public lands of the Upper Peninsula.  Although I have hunted out of state, my passion lives in the mixed ag areas of central Michigan.  I have been making habitat improvements on permission properties and friends farms for many years and a few years ago purchased my own piece of heaven to start with a blank slate.  The heavily mature wooded property has proven to be an interesting situation when it comes to transforming the property for whitetails.  We went from having a park setting and seeing very little daytime movement to harvesting multiple deer this past fall after making some simple yet effective changes.  The property has transformed from something that held almost no deer to a property that is beginning to hold more mature deer each fall.  We have a very specific habitat plan and hunting plan for our property.  A combination of bedding, travel corridors, food plots, access trails that lead to non invasive but effective tree stand locations that are sweetened by water holes and mock scrapes.  My passion is habitat plans and improvements to lead to an enjoyable and successful hunt.

Habitat Plans - Have a Plan!

A Whitetail Habitat Plan will come with a well put together map of your property that will describe all improvement recommendations and hunting strategies for the plan.  This will include and is not limited to bedding areas, food plots and recommended plantings in each, deer travel corridors, stand site sweeteners (mock scraps, water holes, etc.), hunter access routes, screening recommendations and ultimately ideal stand sites along with what wind direction and time of day to hunt these stands.  There will also be a detail page/key plan of all that is shown on the map.  It is a roadmap to a successful hunting parcel.  Lets get your property set up today!
